Ethics in Action: Real Decisions in School Communication

Pressure Points: Navigating Ethical Tensions with Leaderhsip & Community Expectations (Part 2 of the Ethics in Action Series)

School communicators are often asked to navigate situations where expectations don't align. A superintendent wants one approach. A board member wants another. Community members are demanding action. And somewhere in the middle, you're trying to provide sound counsel while maintaining your professional integrity. In this session, participants will explore common scenarios that require balancing leadership priorities, stakeholder expectations, and professional standards. Through practical examples and guided discussion, attendees will learn strategies for serving as a trusted advisor, communicating risk, and navigating ethical tensions when there isn't a solution that satisfies everyone.
