I currently serve as the Executive Director of Community Relations and Marketing for the Wylie ISD. My primary responsibility is to develop and maintain external relationships with the surrounding community and organizations, further enhancing trust and transparency with those the school district serves.
The award-winning department is focused on maintaining ongoing, open, and effective relationships and communication with district stakeholders (staff, students, parents, and community members) in meaningful and engaging ways. The department is also responsible for planning and hosting District special events, serving as the District liaison to the Wylie ISD Education Foundation, Inc., Chambers of Commerce, and other business partners and agencies. They also coordinate the district’s community leadership program, CLAAS, and the senior citizen gold card program.
From 2010-2020 I served as Executive Director of Communications and Community Relations. In this role, I also led the district's safety and security programs.
Prior to working in Wylie, I served in a similar role in the Mesquite ISD. I began my communications career in 1990 as a photographer and editor for Harte Hanks Newspapers in Plano and still work on a freelance basis for clients across the country. I have a BA in Mass Communications from Texas Tech University and an MS in HR/Business from Amberton University.
